[A young woman with a pearl in her forehead holds the communicator, trembling, and almost to the point of tears. The woman looks around, with her bright blue eyes. It's dark out and it looks like she's in the Southern District. The forest looms over her head and she looks around at her surroundings with pursed lips.]

O-Or even Greg, or Connie?! Please, please, pick up! However on earth this thing works! [Getting frustrated, she smacks the side of the communicator with her fist.]

[ While he prefers the beach in the Eastern District, Link has been spending a bit more time in the Southern District forest lately, particularly on account of having several friends there. The forest is also a nice place to run around in and explore. It seem that this won't be an average stroll for him, though.

The voice catches his attention, and he hurries over to find the source of the sound. The stranger certainly seems distressed, but fortunately not injured. Well, that's a relief. Here, have a curious pointy-eared boy in an uncomfortably warm green outfit peeking at you from next to a nearby tree. u ok there lady? ]

[Still, this place didn't feel like Aincrad. Some of the terrain and buildings could have been plucked from there, but other aspects felt strangely familiar. A short while ago, he'd walked past a village built in the trees that vaguely reminded him of an old movie he'd seen several years ago. Thankfully, however, no spear wielding teddy bears came out to greet him. He dismissed it, thinking perhaps Kayaba was a fan of the same film.]

[But this... this was certainly nothing that would ever be in Aincrad. A pizzeria, complete with an attached Laser Tag Arena. Even more disturbing, he'd yet to run across another soul to this point, neither player nor NPC. Had he somehow stumbled into an area that the developers had set up to test something, then dummied out of the actual game?]

[There was a very unusual-looking trunk of metal that stood quite apart from the trees in the area. It definitely didn't look tree-like at all, and were one to glance up for closer inspection, they just might find something- or someone, rather, looking right back.

A pair of spotlight eyes peered down from a height taller than even the trees in the area.

[She was more shaken by it than she was letting up but she had appearances to keep up. There was a lot more to the story but those details were hers to keep.]

[And just when he'd been starting to get better, starting to feel like himself again, everything had to go crazy and his entire world seemed to spin out of control. Waking up in an unfamiliar place had been terrifying, absolutely terrifying and it had rendered Fitz unable to do anything for a good amount of time. [Rex opens one eye to see a man approaching, focused on what looks like a Nautilus communicator. The kid's never seen or heard him before. Must be a newbie.]

[this is a new thing. this is a new thing and pipes is very excited. being transported to an alien world and having his weapons deactivated? whatever, man, there's a goddamn tree nearby and he's never seen a tree before.

instead of being smart and using the communication device to see if any other crew members are around, pipes has constructed a small pile of garbage, with which he is using to try and get to one of the lower branches that looks like it might hold his weight. sometimes, being a minibot means you have to utilize your environment.

[Sweeping her pulse rifle in an arc, Aeryn Sun steps through the gate into unfamiliar territory and she doesn't look very happy about it. The immediate area seems clear enough, though one of Nautilus's cameras hovers out of sight of her, recording the newest arrival for all to see.

Stepping aside to take more adequate cover, Aeryn turns her head aside to the small communicator attached to her vest.]

Pilot, can you get a fix on my location? [There a few beats of silence.] Pilot. Respond.

[The camera moves around slowly, watching as she attempts to hail the rest of Moya's crew to no avail. She's considering her options when the movement catches her eye, snaps up the pulse rifle, aims, and fires. The video screen goes black.]
