Hiro hunches down once he's sure that the girl isn't unconscious or brain-damaged by her cat assault. His attention is momentarily diverted in unfastening the tiny rocket boots from Mochi (who is getting more and more annoyed with each passing minute), but the question gets a frown of concern.

"...well...right now you're on the ground..." he begins slowly, just in case she has amnesia and needs to start from scratch.

Although curious indeed about what hit her, she's very interested in the bigger questions and will ask about the cat with those flying boots if she gets the opportunity.

Lowering her hand from her head, she shrugs her shoulders briefly, "Well, yeah... I know what the ground is...b-but I don't know what this place is." To make it more clear, she gestures with a hand to their surroundings.

The cat who is now free from his boots, and will wander over to headbutt this new person's hand, purring contentedly. Potential new friends are Mochi's favorite~

Hiro sits back on his heels, frowning even more now. A newcomer? Probably. He's not very good with the whole "welcome to your new inescapable home" thing, but he'll try.

"It's, uh...it's called Nautilus. It's sort of a...different universe. Sort of. Like a world between worlds? If that makes any sense?"

If it does make sense, Annie isn't going to be able to process the concept properly with her attention diverted towards the furry creature nudging at her hand. Leaning away from Mochi as she cringes, she lifts her hand off the pavement to hover up in the air. Her gaze stays fixed on this unknown insisting at her hand.

Voice tighter and little more airy now, Annie hopes the boy that was holding it a moment ago can translate this behavior for her, "....w-w-what does it want?"

Has she never seen a cat before? May as well not have.

Hiro's gotten tactful enough that he doesn't laugh at this behavior, though he does noticeably clear his throat. Not everyone has cats where they're from, don't be rude. He reaches out to smooth his hand along Mochi's back, soothing the disgruntled cat and showing the girl that he isn't dangerous.

"He just wants you to pet him, that's all. He won't hurt you, see?"

Silent as she watches, remaining stiff and rigid in place, she picks up quickly on the desired response that the nudging was meant to ellicit. Looking up from the cat to the teenager, then back to the cat, she considers her options.

Does it still want to be petted by her?

Tentatively she extends her hand out to hover over the feline's head, and with another pause to look to the stranger for cues that she should stop, she goes ahead and makes light contact. Her touch is quite gentle, and she smoothly slides her fingers over the back of the cat once, "...l-like this?"

Mochi, bless his heart, immediately reacts by arching his back and purring loudly, stepping up and placing his front paws on the girl's leg so as to give her better access for petting. Hiro can't stifle a grin, nodding and absently scritching the cat at the base of his tail.

"Yeah, just like that. Give him some food now and you'll be his new best friend."
