[dorito has a hand on her hip, eyeing lapis suspiciously. there's not actually much peridot can do without any weapons or backup, but she's certain lapis won't try to screw up more than she has already.]

This would be the moment when Lapis would be calling up her water wings and getting the hell out of dodge, except it's not happening. Hope Peridot enjoys that brief look of fear from Lapis before the other gem just decides to take off running.

[she doesn't enjoy the fear, really; she's indifferent. peridot isn't quite like jasper - never saw the point in screwing around trying to make gems quiver instead of getting the job done.
