What are you trying to accomplish?

[ Birdy looks back, instantly guarded for sheer fact she was snuck up on so suddenly. And so quietly. ]

Absolutely nothing, unless you're in a habit of making a fool of yourself in public.

[Aeryn arches a brow.]

EXCUSE--[ She clears her throat. Nope. Keep it cool. ] You're hardly 'the public', lady.

Isn't that what humans call open spaces?

[If this is another human thing that Aeryn just doesn't get then she gives up at this rate!]

[ Birdy stares, then puts her hand to her chin. Come to think of it she never thought about that before. Humans were pretty weird. ] Is it?

I wouldn't know, I'm not human.

[Although she is eyeing you now, Birdy.]

You're not. [ That was good news, at the very least. ]

Are you an Altan or an Ixioran Altan?

[She frowns slightly, having never heard of this species before.]

I've never heard of that race before.

I can say the same for yours. What sector of space are you from?

My name is Birdy. I'm an Ixioran; I work for the Federation as an officer.

[canbemore]

Then you must be new here. [Aeryn gestures to the space surrounding them. At least she can guess that Birdy might be new.]

[ She looks off. ]

Hehe. The gravity here seems a lot different than what I'm used to.

It is my understanding the gravity is regulated to match a planet called Earth.

[At least, John's never complained about it, so that's all Aeryn can assume. Which was also close enough to match Moya's internal gravity as well, oddly enough.]

I assume it can be manipulated with bending, just like everything else here.

That's impossible!

I've come from Earth. My abilities and equipment worked there just fine. [ She crossed her arms. ] Since I've gotten here, nothing has worked the same. The calibration must be off by a lot.

[canbemore]

The calibration of your equipment and your abilities beyond that of a normal human is nullified upon entry to the city, at first. I assume it will return in time.

[ixioran]

WHAT?! You're kidding!

[ She looks at her hands mournfully. ]

I'm not going to start acting like some weird human, am I!?

I have no reason to 'kid'.

[At that Aeryn snorts softly.]
