"You're Scottish? And you're not a ginger?" What the hell? Really what the hell. What does he have to do regenerate into a freaking ginger?

"Oh shut up." As Ten gives the other a glare.

"Kind of thought the accent would be a give away."

He rolls his eyes again.

"You can let go of the ginger thing too. We've moved on from that."

Though, to be far it took living fully as Eleven for that to happen.

"You and I both know, if there's one thing we can do, it's talk."

"Maybe you moved on from that. But I still want to be a ginger."

There's a long inhale and exhale as Ten places his suitcase on the ground and then pushes up his suit coat and shirt sleeve and reveals a futuristic looking watch. No, it's not Captain Jack's.

After pressing a few buttons and sends the Guide, "Thar. That's the Guide for later when you want to cheat. Also -" Draws attention to that suitcase on the floor with his foot.

"I'm living in a each district here. If you like I could contact Azmuth and Dead End so they know you could be stopping off when I'm not thar."

A long pause and looks directly at himself with tears coming down his cheeks,

"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. But -" Almost a whisper, "She's not here..."

"Then die your hair. Because if we can't regenerate it doesn't matter what you want, anyway."

Such. Hard. Work. And he has more important things to worry about... Which is what he's thinking about when Ten distracts him with something that looks suspiciously like a Vortex Manipulator.

"So, why can't we use that to get home?"

He had just finished speaking when something in his pocket vibrated. His phone. He had forgotten all about it. It's the He takes it out and starts to look at the message and... well. Yes. Fine. At least his reading speed is still very quick.

"She's got quite the attitude."

Which is all he'll say about that. Now, he's testing the different features because surely his phone can reach the TARDIS. Twelve is doing all of this while Ten is talking about moving from place to place. And just as Ten is talking about "she's not here", Twelve realises that whatever phone this is, isn't actually his phone.

He can't use it to reach the TARDIS. And what Ten said sinks in and he shrugs it off. He'll cry about it later, under the cover of Darkness.

"Well, someone had stolen her from the last place I left her. So this is one less place to look."

No, really, he'll be broken and utterly distraught later. That is a level of mourning that he doesn't share with anyone. Not even himself.

"I was thinking of bending my hair that colour. Although, so far. I'm only able to create small objects."

Ten has his palm open in front of him between the two and focuses with his eyes shut tight and slowly, very slowly - a key begins to appear in Ten's palm.

"It's a start at least."

Ten slips the key into his suitcoat pocket on the inside.

"Because it's not a vortex manipular. Only a basic communication device."

Ten only stares as he watches his other self-read quickly. My god. He didn't even crack a smile at reading Irene's post. He's seen the stone faces on Easter Island be more expressive and it's biting Ten on the inside on not asking on, why the change with personality. Ten recalls when he had been The War Doctor and transforming into Nine that made Nine so full of revenge and rage having been born out of war.

The more Ten stares at his other self, the more Ten doesn't want his own story to end.

"I was traveling in the time vortex when I found myself separated from her.." Which has happened once before, during when Nine had been transported to Satellite 5 and if it hadn't been for Azmuth, who knows how long Ten would have been in denial about the Police Box.

"Thar are also some residents you should know about. Thar's Azmuth. He's a Galvan. Good person... He also knows what I am...

Marinette also knows.

There's a creature called Zim. Just be careful around him. He's small but he's insane. Just insane. And on some mission from The Tallest to destroy Earth. For the time being, I have him believing I'm a Slitheen.

There's a human named Ray Stanz and him and his crew dimension hop with helping people against the paranormal. And has heard of our adventures as our Sixth Regeneration.

...He's nice. Good person." Ten adds an after thought.

"Thar are also resourceful people, Irene. As you've read. But also Dana. I still haven't met her."

Ten's voice becomes cautious, "Thar are robots here. But - they're not as single-minded as Daleks." However, Ten still doesn't fully trust them either.

"And three psychiatrists. Dr. Harleen Quinzel, who's a human and Rung and Gabe who are the A.I.s."

"Finally, there's a human named Dirk. I've been helping him for under a month and he's becoming better."

"...He has a gun. An isn't afraid to use it on others. But he won't use it on me anymore. Don't tell him you're also The Doctor. I don't think he'll be able to handle that."

"So, according to this," he wiggles the phone back and forth to indicate the info he just read, "Anyone can do that. You're a genius. You've been here over a month! And that's the best you can do?"

Twelve's tone signifies his disappointment. And he suspects he'll be better at it, due to his time in his Confession Dial and the amount of time he spent in his 'storm room'. But in general, when it comes to focus and silence and just thinking, Twelve is just more apt with those things than his earlier selves. Maybe it has something to do with age. Maybe it's because of his musical aptitude this go... Thoughts for another time.

Most of the rest of Ten's speech is going in one ear and out the other. Twelve, as his own person will formulate his own decisions about who is and isn't to be trusted and he'll be damned if he doesn't claim the name 'Doctor' since it is his name. Actually, Ten telling him not to, is reverse psychology, makes him want to do it more.

While Ten had been talking, Twelve had continued to play with his phone, which now he recognised as one of the phones he had gotten recently while travelling in the States. Well, at least it explains why none of the TARDIS specific features are built into it.

"Guns. Why does keeping the peace always involve killing people?"

He's used a gun recently, but figured this was a safer revelation to Ten than to share he had returned to Gallifrey and killed the General.

Ten snaps, "Shut up, Granddad!"

Afterwards, stares over in his own dreadful and serious manner, "It shouldn't. No one should have to die."

Outside of the fixed points but since Ten can't sense time here, he can't tell what is fixed and what isn't.

"No one dies." Ten states rather gravely as both his hearts beat in his chest and his mind whirls in a circle.

Is this - is this The Master? No. It can't be. He doesn't have any regenerations left! And how would The Master know about Donna when Ten didn't mention her by name?

Why would his future -

"I not going to become you. Ever."

Twelve isn't bothered being told to shut-up. He and ... someone... Clara? had exchanged that phrase often enough.

"No one? Never forget that chaos is the metabolism for the universe. Death is the one thing that unifies every single living creature in the universe."

Wow, he had no idea what an idiot he was when he was younger. His life has improved so much now that he can admit being an idiot and being wrong about some things.

He chuckles softly at Ten's declaration.

"You're right. You don't become me."

Ten stands there silently. His eyes half-shut, his nose scrunched and his mouth a line because he knows in his hearts that there does have to be death. Like Pompeii in 79 AD has to happen. Even if that does toll on Ten's guilt.

However, any deaths that Ten can prevent the better.

Before rapidly blinking in confusion at that last statement and his eyes wide in shock and confusion as well as his mouth.

"But I don't have any regenerations left for after that..."

Complete side-eyeing wondering now if you're a Wirrn now.

"I never could count right when I was you."

He shakes his head, but that's all he'll say. Because to talk about bringing Gallifrey back and how the Time Lords granted him another regeneration cycle of unknown number... well. That really would blow Ten's brain. And since he needed his brain in tact, he figures that would be a bad idea.

Either answering or not answering is going to blow Ten's brain in some manner. Telling him would just make the implosion worse. Right now, Ten is going through his memories and counting each of his lives up though his own and then - he becomes someone else. And then - Granddad here. Doesn't add up.

Just doesn't add up.

The shock and confusion does not leave his face and picks up his suitcase and proceeds to leave. If the other doesn't stop Ten, Ten will wave with his fingers with his back towards Granddad.

Still very confused.
