This guy looks like the Tenth Doctor. But he's scruffy, needing a shave, and has a different kind of... everything about him.

"You." He peers at Jack. "Tell me who you are." Probably not 10. Unless he has amnesia. Or is testing Jack. Whichever.
justsayinhello: (Oh Really?)

Jack turned to glance at the man, looking him up and down. He did look somewhat like the Doctor, but his demeanor was completely different. Even so, if it was the Doctor and he didn't know him, there was no sense in tipping him off. He did know how to travel through time, after all.

"Captain Jack Harkness." He offered his hand with a warm smile. "And you are?"

"Kilgrave," he hesitantly looked at the hand, and smile... clearly unused to this reaction, but shortly smiled right back and shook the hand, seeming cheerful enough. "Where did you come from? Be honest."

He seemed different because he wasn't the Doctor. That was perfectly fine, Jack liked meeting new people after all.

"Before I stepped into this place? I was in Cardiff." Jack was still smiling, was he supposed to dislike Kilgrave? "That's where I work."
mentalolympics: (No I don't believe you)

[personal profile] mentalolympics 2017-05-23 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"Cardiff?!" a distinct grimace. "The hell were you doing thar?" He still sounded like the Doctor. Sort of. Except for the swearing.

"Dreadful place. All rain and the locals..." an eye roll. "Nothing on New York City. Now thar's a fun city." He'd go to Vegas, but he doesn't want to get shot.

"Just happens to be where our base is, that and there's some interesting activity going on. Being close to the action is the best way to go about it." Come now, the locals aren't that terrible. Some of them are quite cute.

"I can't argue with you there, I like New York City too. Fantastic night life."

[personal profile] mentalolympics 2017-05-23 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"Base," Kilgrave rolled his eyes, and looked at his nails. "Those can be remade anywhere." But the comment about New York's nightlife gets a grin. "The best. Especially if know the right people and where to look." Of course the hecklers were a bit annoying, but how better to test power over them?

Jack wasn't going to argue about why he needed to be in Cardiff with someone who probably didn't understand the intricacies of time and space.

"What about this place? Any good nightlife around here?" Jack grinned. "Since we're not in New York right now, but here instead."

Good plan, Jack.

"Not a clue," Kilgrave grimaced again, "But I rather doubt it. Too few people to use that sort of thing."

Well, there was one, in the city over, but Kilgrave hadn't been there long enough to know about that. Plus he wasn't one for friends.

"Now that is a real shame, if a man can't just go out and have a little fun. How about you, do you like fun?"

He didn't need friends to have fun, he could make new friends by going out. It was the best way to go about it when in a strange land.

"Who doesn't like fun?" Kilgrave grinned, probably not knowing what Jack meant. Or maybe he did. Who knows. "Good game of rugby," torturing some hapless victims and drones; "Couple pints o' lager or a fine bottle of wine, night out on the town... Fun." Again, their ideas of fun may or may not align. Who could say.

[personal profile] justsayinhello 2017-05-23 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Now we're talking!" He said enthusiastically. "Couple of pints, night on the town, great fun that."

"That's what we should be looking for around here." That, or invasions of aliens, tears in the rift of time and space...it's all relative to what comes up.

"Let's see if we can find a pub around here, get to know each other over a drink."
mentalolympics: (I'll make all our dreams come true)

[personal profile] mentalolympics 2017-05-24 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Pub sounds good."

Getting to know each other? That was... new. REALLY new. Like, no one had ever really tried before. At best... women hit on him because he told them to. "Uh yeah, sure." Kilgrave grinned, hiding any ounce of uncertainty. "You like rugby?"
justsayinhello: (Default)

[personal profile] justsayinhello 2017-05-24 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Clearly Kilgrave had been missing out, or meeting the wrong people, because why wouldn't they hit on him? He was attractive, in a scruffy way.

"Then let's take a walk until we find one." Jack grinned and started wandering.

"Rugby is a fine sport. Popular where I am, football too."
mentalolympics: (smug)

[personal profile] mentalolympics 2017-05-25 10:27 am (UTC)(link)
He definitely met the wrong people. Mostly because he was the wrong people.

"It's a plan," if nothing else. Although Kilgrave was already beginning to miss New York's constant steady stream of cars and drivers to manipulate and order about.

"Well, yeah." Kilgrave snorted quietly. "Cardiff. Nothing else to do there. Unless you mean somewhere else."

[personal profile] justsayinhello 2017-05-25 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Being the wrong people didn't mean he couldn't meet nice attractive good people someday. This was not that day, but they could pretend.

"Excellent!" He grinned, it was an adventure.

"I've been in Cardiff for quite awhile so I'd have to say that's about right." Jack chuckled. "There's not a lot going on there."

Apart from the rift activity, but hardly the time or place to discuss business.
