Link was taking Epona for a ride, trying to take advantage of the calm between Storms. He was pleased to be himself and to be the right age to ride his horse. The Hylian was a little surprised to see an unfamiliar boy looking....lost.

He slowed Epona down and made her stop, not far from the newcomer.

"Hey. Are you okay?"

The question fell upon deaf ears. Ascot was still trying to ascertain why his summoning had failed. "This.. this doesn't make any sense. Why wouldn't he come when I called..... he always...". Also, outside of Caldina, Ascot didn't really have many interactions with those of the humanoid variety. He usually kept to himself and his creatures.

When it finally dawned on him that there was someone else there, he glanced at Link though it was hard to tell through those thick bangs of his and he replied with,"What are you looking at?!".

Great. One of those.

Link patted Epona's neck, sighing to himself.

"Just seeing if you're lost. Part of my job with the Task Force is to help new people."

You guessed it. One of those.

"Task Force?" These words put together like that were foreign and strange. "What's a Task Force?"

..And more importantly where did this guy find a horse? It might not be a very remarkable creature compared to what Ascot was used to but at least it was something.

"A group of citizens in Nautilus who work together to keep it safe. We also make sure the Welcome Houses have food in the kitchens, help newcomers, that sort of thing."

Link noticed the other kid was eyeing Epona.

"I'm Link. This is Epona. We're both from Hyrule, originally. The city brought her here several months after I first arrived. You can pet her if you want."

“Why go to all that trouble...?” Stopping himself from saying “let them fend for themselves” since, you know... maybe he could use this guy. It’s not like he came in with many resources of his own. “Wow that sounds really great.” And not at all dorky or boring in the slightest. cough. “I could go for some food myself.”

“I’m Ascot, from Cephiro. I’ve never heard of Hyrule.” There was something glaring about what the other boy had said. “If the city brought Epona here couldn’t it bring one of my friends too?” Also he wasn’t going to pass up the chance to per the horse.

"Because, I like helping people."

Link tilted his head. "Ah, most people haven't heard of Hyrule---but, I've met someone here from your world."

"And, yeah, the city might bring your friends. Maybe not right away, he's got weird timing."
