After - sort of - eyeing around; decides to take five minutes or so - to be honest, doesn't know how long; but none-the-less is taking a break.
And is building a snow Dalek; mostly because Rusty is on his mind and isn't particularly noticing what he's building in the snow more or less debating whether or not a Dalek could be a 'Good' Dalek. He knows that the Dalek that merged with the human was better. He knows that the Dalek, Rose touched got better. It would be a lot easier if Ten hasn't come off having been shot by personally.
However, the snow Dalek is missing the laser arm.
River will see a tall, lanky man with fluffy hair, a long brown coat that is open in this weather - and sandshoes

It was enough to make her slow down and actually stop a good ten feet behind the lanky man building it. It also gave her a good few moments to look him over. He was cute in that skinny pretty boy way and did remind her a bit of a certain bow tie wearing madman, but, only in passing.
As for the snow dalek, even she noticed what it was missing. "You're missing the laser arm. Daleks almost always have those."

That's when he hears her face and feels his blood run cold because he had to watch her die.
He can't show her sorry eyes or a hint of a sorry voice because he doesn't know when River is. Though, at least his hands are covered in snow and bends up a plain gold ring on his ring finger.
After all, Ten isn't going to not say anything or hint at something and River is going to have to understand you can't love someone you don't know yet. It's not a choice between River and Rose.
Not at all. And when Ten told Rose about not caring romantically about River even if River is his wife - he meant that.

Finally, turns around smiling with both his mouth and brown eyes; "This Dalek's naked. Welcome to Nautilus."

At least not at first. There was just something about him that was tugging at the back of her mind. If she had been anywhere else, she would have known him instantly, but here? It was a bit harder.
In fact, it wasn't until her eyes met his that there was a slight hint of recognition in her own. No matter what face he wore, no matter how young or old he was, she would always see him in those eyes. But, this was a face of his she had yet to meet....so that left her with the question of where were they? Did he know her yet? Sometimes she had to curse her own timeline with how messed up it tended to be compared to his.
A blessing and a curse really... River took a few steps towards him and then stopped as something caught her attention in the light. A glint of gold on his finger that she stared at for a few moments before looking back up to his face. For a moment, she was searching for something while she attempted to make up her mind. Honestly, this was a new one on her.
Meeting him out of order was always an adventure but, every time she did.. there was always that one small fear that tugged at the back of her mind...one she was shoving away right now as she put on a smile of her own.
"Hello Sweetie. Does everyone get greeted by a naked Dalek sculpture or am I just special?"

What should he do? Should he pretend not to know her? No, that would only backfire. However, there isn't really any polite way to tell River this is there?
A swallow and dry remark, "Don't call me sweetie, River. You might upset the Ms." A short pause, "I'm sorry. I'm so, so, sorry. But I don't know how we happened. We can definitely get to know each other and be friends. But this face of me can't be your husband in Nautilus."

"Yet you seem to know who I am. Funny how our timelines never match up right." Her voice was calm and quiet, even if she was trying to hide a bit of hurt.
"Hope you know, this wouldn't be the first time we've been married to other people while also being married to each other. I know that loving you means sharing you, no matter what face you wear or when in each other's timeline we meet up."
She started to move towards him, only stopping a few feet from him as she kept looking in his eyes, just... searching for something to put herself at ease. "But, make no mistake, I may have married a future version of you, but, I love all of you. Even the parts of you that don't know me yet or don't love me back. That will never change...besides, I knew what I was getting into when I said 'I do'."

However, much better to be straightforward than have a 'song and dance' down the road. Epsically considering, Ten and Rose have had talks regarding River before River is had come here. Now, if only Rose could understand what River and The Doctor understand.
But the words, 'petty' and 'jealous' in Rose's voice echo in his head. There's only a whisper of; "Yeah."
He knew there was going to be hurt feelings but it was better this way than the long way around.
Then a pause; and bends River up a more proper coat more suitable for this winter weather and offers that to her.

Even if it hurt, she accepted it. After all, when one loved a man like him, things like this were to be expected. Of course, if he expected River to change her ways just like that, he had another thing coming.
"This is usually the part where I ask about comparing diaries, but, I think we can skip that step this time. Somehow, I have a feeling it would lead to spoilers I'm not ready for yet."
