I see. Perhaps Hiro and those who you are looking for will arrive later?

[Baymax bends down and picks up the nearest oragami figure, one of some sort of bird. The motion is surprisingly careful and delicate for something so big and pudgy, as he takes great care not to damage the figure as he examines it.]

Did you create these oragami figures?

[ He's doubtful, but he doesn't say so. If Baymax wants to think that, he can, but Kubo's not getting his hopes up when he doesn't even really understand where he is yet. Maybe they'll appear and maybe they won't, but he has things to sort out that are more important than wringing his hands over the fact that his companions are missing.

He watches carefully at first when Baymax goes to pick the bird up, but relaxes once he's got a good grip on it. It wasn't a huge deal, anyways, they were easy to recreate. ]

[ He reaches behind him, taking a couple pieces of paper from the pack slung across his back and sitting down cross-legged on the ground. It doesn't take him long to produce another paper animal-- this one a cat of some sort, and when he stands back up he offers it to Baymax. ]

I used to perform shows with them, in a village near the place I grew up. That's what I was trying to do here. [ He lightly nudges one of the origami birds with his foot, and it topples over. ] ...It didn't work.

[Kubo will soon see that Baymax takes the same great care with most other things too. Baymax accepts the cat with equal delicacy.]

In what way does it not work? You seem to be quite capable at both creating oragami figures and playing music, but I do not understand how the two acts could be connected as part of a performance.

[Since you kind of need two hands for both of them, as far as Baymax knows.]

The music is supposed to bring them to life. Or make them move, at least. But they aren't doing anything anymore.

[ He lightly strums the strings again just to prove his point. ]

I don't know what happened.

I do not know how music could make paper figures move.

But I will scan you now. It is possible that whatever force brought us here caused some undetected injury or biochemical change that is disrupting your abilities.

I don't really know how it works either. It's my mother's magic, not mine.

[ Well. He more or less knows the general source of the magic, just not how it works specifically on paper. It wasn't that big of a deal, anyways.

He looks pensive for a bit over the suggestion. He guesses it's not out of the question, but he doesn't know how Baymax plans on fixing it if it's undetected... ]
