"I won't go in there, I promise." Especially since she had been asked not to go in there. She wasn't very good at cooking anyway so practicing cooking in the smaller kitchen might be easier for her. She swallowed as she was given a warning about the knives and the heat of the machines. "I- I won't touch them without express permission, Auntie."

"I think that to be a rather reasonable plan, Aunt Maddie." She was pretty giddy to see the Bending thing in action!

sorry for the delay!
"I think a nice peach tea would be delicious, do you have any?" Little did she know that bending would occur to get it though, honestly, she should have thought about that since Maddie had made it clear that things could be acquired by that means. Still, it wasn't something on her mind. She was still busy taking in everything in the diner and enjoying being somewhere safe for a spell.
Never a worry!

in onto Maggie and Maddie talking about recipes, men, life and everything in between. She dropped her gaze to the table to think about it. It might help to know what things were like on her end before she had arrived here but it was just as easy to try and relay to her what the latest news in the family was. What was the latest news? Frank had been back to work for some few months now, after the incident that led her to leaving the Doctor, things had finally managed to go back to normal. Maggie was mostly trying to get used to her new role as a parent and Victoria had been trying to sort out public schools in the 1960s — a large change from the 1860s. Victoria relayed to her aunt that Frank was doing well at work once more and that, in her opinion, Maggie was being something of a nuisance when it came to herself making friends and yet, she appreciated it. Not having had a mother figure in years, Victoria did like that Maggie was trying. It was just a little bristling to be told "no" among other things.
"School has been interesting though," she tried to choose her words carefully though as she wasn't meant to let people know she had been hauled through time. Glancing out the window, she patted her palms to the table once more. "I was home schooled before I moved in with the Harrises, you see." Well, it wasn't a lie, not really. "Public school is much more opened," after all there are even boys there! "but of course you knew that." She waved her hand to dismiss herself. "I'm not certain that I like the mathematics quite as much as Daddy did, numbers a quite difficult to sort out and the equations just get more and more confusing the more we progress our classes."
Such was the hard life of a young school girl.

"Certainly a rather small classroom, that." Which would definitely be a reminder to her home schooling as she had been the only student at that time. "I suppose, though, that it means individual aid is likely to be rather easy in a classroom that little."
After a beat, she added: "Are there many persons here whom are very different? Like, with the elven sort of features and such?"

"What reasons might those be..."
no subject
"Among other reasons, to deal with new or odd people in small doses." Thatw as dancing all over between the border of truth and lie without quite being either.

"Oh," so she didn't really want to deal with ... people. Placing a diner at the edge of the city would make sense in that case. But Maddie had always seemed so friendly, why didn't she want to be among the people? Perhaps she was just more solitary than Victoria thought. After all, she liked her privacy, too. "I suppose that makes sense then, yes. Do you get many people here at all being so far from the city's heart?"

Taken separately, not a lie in that whole batch.
sorry again. :x ♥
"Some people are more difficult to deal with than others, yes, quite right. I imagine that I'll sort that out for myself sooner or later."
Never have to worry about it with me, or Me.
