[While a number of the other people wandering about seem confused, Albus Dumbledore mostly appears to be curious and delighted. He's never seen magic like this before -- how wonderful it is! And what magnificent colors!

If he's at all disturbed by the call that brought him -- that call to wake -- he shows no signs of it. He just seems happy to observe all the people wandering about.]

Meanwhile - out in the East district there's a phoenix flying around and surveying the area so to speak and while perching on rock close to shore spots an unfamiliar face.

[The sight of a phoenix in the sky immediately catches his eye, and Dumbledore's expression shifts from mere curiosity to sheer ecstatic delight. He watches the bird land on the rock intently, looking him over with glee.]

Well, aren't you a lovely creature.

[Ten ruffles his feathers in delight; why yes, yes he is shame he can't tongue click proper in this form like the sexy creature he is.

However, it is curious that the stranger has taken an interest. Particularly in something that isn't real or at least real in The Doctor's universe. He will stay perched on the rock and as long as the stranger doesn't try to harm - will be agreeable and judging. Very judging.

Do you know what creature form someone has taken on - is the question]

[If he still had his Legilimency, he might be able to pick up on some very unbirdlike thoughts emanating from this phoenix's head. But with his magic gone, there's no interference from his mind, just a sense that the bird is old and has seen quite a lot, and is perhaps a bit more unusual than even a regular phoenix.

Albus approaches the bird carefully, still under the assumption that this is a real wild animal. His look of delight doesn't fade as he says:] You seem like you've seen quite a lot, haven't you? I bet you've been around for all sorts of things.

[Oh, you're intuitive, now aren't you? And those brown eyes stare back - that aren't phoenix eyes but they're not human eyes either and there's no need to nod his head one way or another. The answer is an obvious - yes - to the question given. However, what exactly is quite another thing. There's something along the lines of impossible

And

Ancient.

Like really, really ancient

Fire and Ice

And

Forever

Like the stars]

[Well now. Isn't that something.

He doesn't have the knowledge to guess what the phoenix actually is -- there is no Doctor in his world, no Gallifrey and no Time Lords -- but when he looks closer he can see vastness. Something that stretches out beyond his understanding, probably beyond the understanding of anyone from his side of existence.

For a moment, he just looks at the bird and blinks, before saying:]

Aren't you a fascinating thing.

[The phoenix tilts his head; as if saying - why]

[Dumbledore lets out a small laugh, because he understands that expression -- from Fawkes having looked at him similarly, from knowing that phoenixes are intelligent birds, but also from knowing that this can't be merely just a phoenix.]

Perhaps you just have an air of something about you. It's hard to say.

[He can't say how he knows, exactly. It's instinct mixed with wisdom mixed with a general sense of knowing when he's encountered something powerful. It leaves him with a feeling of respect and fascination and even glee at what he's encountering.]

[Have a guy in some rather unusual clothes that are decorated with patterns of glowing yellow lines. Clu offers a friendly smile as he approaches.]

Greetings. Did you just arrive?

[If Dumbledore finds the clothes or the glowing lines strange, it absolutely does not show in his expression. Instead, he wears a friendly smile in turn as he shifts to face the man greeting him.]

Hello there. I did, I've only just found myself here and I was taking a moment to look at where I'd wound up.

Probably a good idea; it requires a bit of looking, especially at first. That's likely what I'd have done too if I'd been in better shape when I arrived.

My name's Clu, by the way. Welcome to Nautilus.

[Dumbledore responds to the greeting with a warm smile.] It's very nice to meet you, Mr. Clu. My name is Albus Dumbledore.

[Gesturing vaguely to their surroundings, he asks:] Have you been in Nautilus for a long time, then?

[Clu nodded.]

About 2.75 years at this point. It can be pretty weird at times- and it's definitely a lot different than where I'm from-, but you get used to it after awhile. Well... mostly anyway.

Oh, everything is strange in its own ways, I imagine. But this place does seem rather lovely in addition to all that.

What sort of things have you encountered here?

A bit bright for my tastes sometimes, but yeah it is. Well most of it is anyway; not sure how fond you'd be of the Western District unless you like red sky with two moons.

[What's he encountered though? What hasn't he encountered would be a better question. He thinks a moment before replying.]

Things that changed both how I view the world around me and myself. Which seems to be the idea; Nautilus calls itself the City of Change.

[Red sky with two moons admittedly sounds a little fascinating, though if Clu seems wary of it, he'll content himself with perusing elsewhere for now.]

How very fascinating. What sort of changes does it incur?

[Have a twelve-year-old Hylian, carrying a sword and shield on his back, along with a bow and quiver full of arrows---and those are just the weapons that are immediately visible.

Link instantly brightens when he spots the man, giving a little wave and a cheerful smile.]

[Dumbledore turns towards Link with a friendly smile on his face, waving at him in return when he comes over.]

Hello there. Yes, I'm afraid I am, I'm quite unfamiliar with where we are. Though I must admit, it does all seem quite fascinating so far.

It's a little complicated, but, this is Nautilus! It's kind of a world in between all the other worlds. It's a really neat place, though!

Ah, how fascinating! How do you mean, a world between worlds? [He seems genuinely curious and interested to learn more, glancing a little bit at their surroundings in interest.]

[Link rocked back on his heels and up onto his toes while he thought of the best way to explain the city.]

It's a gathering place. See, we all get called here. And if we come here, some part of us wanted to come.

I can send you a guide that might explain it better! Uh, do you have a device, or a book, or a mirror on you?

[He was already unstrapping his shield, which happened to double as his own communication device for the Network.]

OH! What's your name? I have to have it so I can send the guide to you. I'm Link.

My name is Albus Dumbledore. It's a pleasure to meet you, Link.

[He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small notebook -- it's mostly scribbled with flowing, hastily-scrawled notes for lesson plans and the like.] Would this do for a book?

Nice to meet you too!

[Link tilted his head, as he attempted to find the other's name to send the guide to.]

I'm not sure! That's up to the City. We'll find out real soon, though!

Ah, all right then! [He doesn't entirely understand, but that's perfectly all right.] How will the City let us know?
