[Six? But how could she know that. He looked down to find that he had the old "name" button from The Village pinned to the lapel of his navy suit. Clearly she must have seen it. But how could she have guessed he had been an assassin, among other things, in his past life. Unless she was one of them. She must have read his file. But she was just a little girl. A very strange looking little girl. Surely they hadn't stooped to using children...?]

How is it that you know me? Are you working for THEM? No. I don't suppose you'd tell me if you were.

[He looks around trying to spot the cameras. Everything was different. Had they moved him again while he slept?]

[So she was speaking of someone else. Someone else named Six? What did that mean for him? Was someone impersonating him? It had to be another devious plot from Number 2. He'd play along, for now. But he wouldn't wear this button. He tried to jerk it off, but it did not budge. He tried several times more, but still to no avail. He looked back at the girl grumpily.]

It would be rather impractical for me to have a telephone out here, don't you think?

[His tone was patronizing, but he really couldn't help it. What good would an unplugged telephone do him out here? And whom should he want to call on it? This other number Six? If this other Six fellow wanted him, he would have to come find him himself. Meanwhile this fellow would have to find his bearings in this new place, and a way to remove this infernal button.]

Whut do you mean, impractical? Phones're practical, 'less there's no signal, an' there's always a signal in Nautilus.

Signal? Like a radio signal?

[Did she mean those peculiar phones like the one's in The Village call booths. The ones with no cords or dial? It could only be that. Did they project radio signals? If so could they be used to radio out?]

[Well, that is different. His eyebrows raise a little, but he says nothing so as not to tip her off to the fact that he has no idea what that thing is supposed to be. He just makes a low sound in his throat in reply.]

[What does "Cell Phone" mean? They didn't appear to be in a prison cell. But that wasn't saying much in The Village.]

I'm not surprised that Village technology outpaces my own knowledge.

[This was getting him nowhere. He needed to scope out the surroundings, to find out where he was, or if this was still the same Village he'd been in before. It's not impossible that they might have more than one location. Or that they had dropped him here to fool him. Either way he needed more information than this girl was going to give him.]

[He turned and began to walk away determinately. He hoped she wouldn't try to follow.]

[He was leaving. Fine, he was weird, anyway. But weird sometimes meant possessed... So she should double check. She looks intently at him, trying to see in her unique way, whether anything showed up attached to him, that might be making him act mental.]
