[That draws a slight smirk out of Lelouch.] I understand more about the ways of the world than you might thing. This one in particular.
[He makes a gesture, and the shackles on the other man's wrists come open. The gesture is really just to prove that he is the one doing it, though it is not truly necessary.]

Interesting. But is it truly wise to free a murderer of his restraints?

Let us come to the conclusion that the assumption is just. That is the way of the law and as a prosecutor in this dark time, I see no reason for it to be otherwise.
I tire of this. I will just ignore you and I will come back to reality.
no subject
If you are a murderer, I would like to know who you killed and why. Surely a prosecutor would not commit a crime lightly.
[Lelouch shakes his head at that.]
Ignoring me will not change your situation. If you wish to return to your world, I can tell you how to do so, but it will not change any of what exists here.
no subject
[he laughs, the sound bitter from deep within him.]
Oh this is a riot. Look at how much I've fallen. Like a swordsman upon his own blade. Laughable. Whether I stay here in delusion or manage to return to reality, it changes my fate not one bit. So tell me why it matters to you why you know my tale, shadow-dono. I just might have to seal your own fate if I tell you its contents.
no subject
[Lelouch regards him calmly.]
You are outside of the bounds of your world's justice system here. It matters little if you have been convicted of murder here, but it matters a great deal if you are the sort who would like to kill people here. If I hear your tale, I may know what kind of a man you are.
no subject
If that is all that you are interested in, I will answer you:
I have no reason to spill more blood than I already have.
And what of you? What is your tale? A person as interested as you are must have an interesting background.
no subject
[Lelouch gives a slight smile at the questions that are given back to him.]
I could tell you of my position in this city, but that will keep until you believe that this is truly reality.
In my world, I was the Emperor of the Holy Britannian Empire.
no subject
[he makes a sound that sounds like a short scoff. The man was far too young to be an emperor unless the last one died off early. He's not terribly impressed with inherited titles. ]
Pardon me, Your Majesty. Perhaps I drew my sword too quickly. I suppose then if you were emperor, you're also one of the head honchos in this....place.
no subject
You don't need to address me so formally. You may call me Lelouch.
As for Nautilus... it's not any kind of a monarchy. I do have some power here.
no subject
What sort of power do you have here? One that has much knowledge about this place such as yourself must be one of the higher ups in some form.
[Hallucinations. Anything can make sense. Even a young 20-something being both an emperor and some sort of head honcho. And even if this wasn't something his brain conjured up? Feh. It hardly mattered at this point.]
You insist that this is another world. What becomes of mine and my disappearance?
no subject
[Lelouch gazes at the man at the question. It is one almost everyone asks eventually, but it is interesting that he is still doing so whilst under the impression that this is only a hallucination.]
Your world continues to exist. You can return there to the moment when you left at any time, though things will feel somewhat different when you do. You will find that your course of action there must proceed unchanged from what it would have been had you never come here, so it can feel as if a person is an observer in one's own body.
no subject
He mulls over the answer and decides right then just how he was to proceed.]
...
Hmph. As I would have suspected. The whole thing is already surreal. Why not add another layer to that.
no subject
[Lelouch gives a wry smile at that.]
Surreal is a good word for it. It's fine if you don't believe anything I'm telling you right now. This world breaks a lot of the rules that shape most worlds.
no subject
What sort of trick are you planning on now? I plan to slice through your veil soon enough.

That was quite interesting. It was as if it appeared out of midair.
no subject
That is the idea of Bending. Creating something out of nothing with only one's focus and strength of will. I thought an innocuous demonstration might be better persuasion than any words could be.
no subject
If this is what you claim, then why am I here?

[perhaps he really is already dead. Blocking out memories of death seems plausible.]

Memory is absurdly unreliable.
