"Years? You measure by years?" said Bob, more surprised from the measurement than nanoseconds or whatever.

"Some by decades or centuries, I suppose."

That's longer than the life of a sprite that's for sure. You'd give Phong a run for his money.

"Yes, I've been told many times here," he said dryly. "I look like a child, but am older than most people here expect to ever live...." A bit of pain there. His son was so sure he wouldn't live to see more than three decades himself...

"Minutes?" Wow... this guy was.... young. Spoke very well for having been alive only a few minutes. Or did he mean just being in Nautilus?

"Oh, I've only been in Naut a little over a year. The rest of that time was in Ceiphro."

"Still weird for the time difference," replied Bob. "Minutes, nanoseconds, microseconds, seconds..."

"Well, I guess things happen at different paces in different worlds, maybe that is why everyone always seems to be in such a rush, here."

You're telling me. Back home, a system wouldn't be more than a week old.

"It's where I come from. Mainframe, a smaller system out in the Net."

"Well, I come from a system called the Super Computer actually, but Mainframe is where I process now. There's different systems, which can be accessed through the I/O ports and such."

"Yeah, we've got a lot of differences I'd imagine. To me, you've just started processing, even though you said you use years, which is a lot more time than a system runs on."

"I've just started processing?" And he was lost again. But he did reach up to the jewel in his staff and from it came a scroll, and a quill. He started taking notes.

"Physical compiling comparison," replied Bob. "Most sprites take a few minutes to compile."

It's hard to figure. I mean, you don't look or seem like a 0-1.
