Xion just watched for a moment, at the biting and the swearing, and then something happened that even she didn't expect to happen. Xion giggled, and it startled even her. Putting her hand up to her mouth, she tried to cover her laughter, but it still popped out.

"I'm sorry!" She said, but it was hard to be scared when this tiny little dragon thing was biting at someone, and the other person was yelling at it. She couldn't stop giggling.

Didn't the glasses fix her eyes? Xion thought that people who wore glasses, their eyes were fixed by them. Or something. She wasn't a scientist, or a doctor, or anyone who really thought about those kind of things that much.

But she didn't expect her to get so excited. Xion seemed startled by the exuberance of it all, and she couldn't help but lean back a little bit.

"Um... you're welcome?" She finally said softly. "No one else wants to help you?"

"That'd be nice." Xion said softly, looking up at the giant fluffy... marshmallow man. She shivered, though it wasn't so much from cold as the realization that this was an uncharted world by her, and she was by herself. Usually, she'd gone to worlds that others had been to before her, others that she knew.

And yet there were others here who knew more then her. This was her first time really, truly, on her own. And it was a little scary, to know she couldn't go back home just like normal.

"I'm Xion." She said after a moment of biting her lip. "What's your name?"

He gave her a bright kitty smile. "That's okay. I can teach you. I've taught proper cat fishing to most of the city by this point!" Usually when they first arrive....

He had meant about being a hero, but for the other... he nodded. "It was myself and one other that gave him his." They gave him a placebo and exercises to convince him that he was whole and let a city where will and belief shaped reality do the rest.

She snorted rudely, which turned out to be a swear word in some language, because the city translated it. "You're hardly the first **** person to find it amusing," she muttered. She tried once more to pull the pokemon from her head then gave up and left him there, muttering under her breath in four languages, all of which amounted to questioning his parentage.

"Some people, bit nearly enough. I did a science experiment with Vexen a while back, and ever since most people have been acting like science is terrifying and I'm a monster for studying it." She shook her head a bit. "Come, I'll show you the work space I've got right now. Though as soon as the lab is built, there will be more room for everyone to work on their own projects."

"And so you believe them." She said it without judgement. There were, after all, some things which everyone said that could be agreed upon without question. The sky was blue. The ocean was wet. A bullet would kill in the right situations.

"I'm not, no. My name is Aeon Flux. I've just been having a look around, trying to see where I am. I take it you're doing the same thing."

"Yeah. Of course. If they said it, it must be true." Xion firmly believed that, which was a problem, but with the conditioning that came from being indoctrinated into Organization XIII, it's just what she came to accept as the truth.

"Oh. Um, yeah, I just got here, and I don't really know where I am. But I've always wanted to go to the beach. I woke up and heard the ocean." She looked down at the ground. "I've never been to this world before. I've been to a lot of worlds, but never this one."

"Proper cat fishing?" Xion asked, curious in what that was. It sounded different then regular fishing, because cats couldn't use the same kind of fishing type thing, right? She didn't think they could. But could she fish like a cat if she wasn't a cat?

There is a rather large white-furred bipedal creature dressed in purple robes on the ground, her face like a cross between a goat and a rabbit. She wakes slowly, but lingers on the ground for a few moments, clenching her paws in this grass. This has to be a dream. It was simply impossible to reach the surface.

She slowly sat up, forcing herself to breathe. It would do no good to panic now...but it had been such a very long time since she had last been surrounded by the unfamiliar. At the sound of a nearby noise, she turned to it, forcing herself to remain calm.

"...Hello?"

...My apologies. It is difficult to use such a small keypad. Greetings, everyone. My name is Toriel. You may have heard that monsters harbor ill will toward humans, but I assure you that I do not. I wish to live peacefully as long as I am here, and I hope I can prove that to you. Please let me know if you would like to meet.

"Hello."

It was a simple response, and it didn't take long for a small red-headed woman to appear. She appeared through the trees, pausing when she saw the other in open curiosity. Thankfully she didn't remain silent for long, instead choosing to address the other in a way that might seem oddly cordial for the moment.

"Are you all right? You look tense, ah... Miss?" That voice had been feminine, right? Nehra she hoped that was right, it was a little hard to tell...

"My name is Toriel. I am well, and I mean you no harm," she answered, drawing up all the bravery she could muster. It had been so long since she had last met an older human, and it had not gone well.

"But I would appreciate some guidance. It has been a very long time since I have lived among humans."

[A warm smile.] "A pleasure to meet someone here who knows how to be so polite!" [And she meant it.] "And if anyone gives you a hard time for not being whatever it is they are, call me, and let me know. I'll do my best to help." [She grew up in a world where she knew as many Monsters and Constructs and Sparks, as she did pure humans. Judging on such things just seemed silly.]

That is very kind of you. Too often, we focus on our differences instead of our similarities. I am still learning about this strange new place, but I hope we can help each other.

Kaylin heard the voice as she was patrolling and changed directions slightly to investigate. tired of waiting, and intrigued by the scent, her tiny flygon flew ahead. The small pokemon flew around her a few times trilling happily, just as Kaylin broke through the brush. She stared at the two. "What the actual *****s?"

[A small chuckle.] "I was raised by someone just as polite as you seem to be, and she'd have been horrified if I had not returned like with like. Do you need some assistance finding your way around?"

Toriel had never seen a small creature quite like it. It was adorable. She smiled and held her hand up peacefully, only to be interrupted by a rather shocked adult human.

She placed her paws on the ground. "Please do not be alarmed. I will not hurt you."

I may, but I am in no hurry to get anywhere. To breathe this air is a luxury in itself.

But I will have to see about making a home for myself. I will probably not fit comfortably in any existing structures.

[Me's way of helping is being that kind of a jerk that pushes people into what they should be doing for their own good, without anyone being able to accuse her of helping.]

Toriel was definitely not the kind of creature Blake had expected to find here, but she definitely didn't seem alarmed by her presence. Still, she was new too, and guessed that maybe this goat-looking creature was too. She shuffled over, offering a hand to help her up.

If nothing else, the fact that she very clearly has cat ears and very cat-like eyes should signal to Toriel that this is no normal human.

She was silent for a few seconds, before finally: "... Hi. You alright?"

Voice, locked.

No, I...

[She sighed.]

There are monsters who wish to hurt you? I should not be surprised. Perhaps I can somehow show a photograph?

"I believe so. I am somewhat lost, but this is not...unpleasant, so far."

She hesitated, but gently laid her much larger paw over the hand. She rose up on unsteady legs.

"Are you familiar with this place?"

"Not at all." Said without hesitation, as she helped the other up. "I'm just as lost right now." This wasn't good - nobody she knew was here. Was it the same for this woman?

"I only just... arrived recently, I guess. I don't understand what's happening, but I'm trying to find answers."

A sound in the distance causes one of Blake's ears to flick in the direction it came from, before she turned to it, and then back to Toriel.

"I'm Blake, by the way." And she's hoping that sound isn't something potentially dangerous. Rule number one of being in an unfamiliar place: treat everything as potentially life-threatening, especially sounds.
