[A small chuckle.] "I was raised by someone just as polite as you seem to be, and she'd have been horrified if I had not returned like with like. Do you need some assistance finding your way around?"

I may, but I am in no hurry to get anywhere. To breathe this air is a luxury in itself.

But I will have to see about making a home for myself. I will probably not fit comfortably in any existing structures.

"There are the welcome houses, apparently. I didn't know about them when I showed up, and mostly slept in a tree until the first snowfall." [Which was a disturbingly apt way to put it. First fall of snow might have been even better. Or worse, given how she had woken up.]

"Oh dear. Snow...and the air is cold enough now. I can survive in it, but I would very much like to build a shelter, or a fire."

She fidgeted with her paws. "It appears my previous abilities, however, have been put on ice."

"Well, I can help you find a shelter if you want, or at least the library."

"A library?"

[Her voice perked up considerably at that.]

"How wonderful! I have pored over the same small collection of books for many years, and would enjoy the opportunity to read new ones."

"There are very few things as pleasant as pouring over a new book. I'll come find you and show you the way. Spent weeks there myself when I first arrived, trying to learn more about temporal mechanics."
