Ral O'Dailigh | OC

[personal profile] pie_ladin 2018-11-03 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
One minute, he'd been nodding off pricing a carton of incense cones: the price of a long night spent around the table behind his GM screen. The next, he blinked, jerked himself awake, and found himself standing outside what looked like some sort of gate.

Ral rubbed at his eyes and glanced around, deciding his subconscious had really done a number on him, this time.

"June's gonna kill me if she comes in and finds me asleep." He tried to pull himself awake, as he was sometimes able to do, but when nothing worked, his eyes narrowed in concern. He stretched one arm out, holding it paralell to the ground, fingertips spread wide, and his frown deepened as he felt ... nothing at all, save a slight breeze. "Fark."

He took a deep breath, held it. Looked inward.

Hey. Are you in there? I could use some of that insight of yours, abuse aside.

The Cat, for once, gave him no answer. He turned around, tried to push at the Gate, and found only resistance, like so many others befire him.

"What the hell...?"

He stepped away from the gate, further into the street, and knelt down, pressing his hand to the ground, his trenchcoat pooling around his ankles, shaggy layers of auburn hair falling in his face. As if waiting for something ... or feeling for it.

There's a new face wandering the streets of Verens today, taking everything in with sharp-eyed curiosity. She doesn't seem the least bit bothered by Waking someplace completely different. Someone should probably tell her to put on some pants.

Either way, when she catches you looking, she looks you up and down, quirking the tiniest smirk, and winks.

"Hi there."

Sometimes, waking up in a new place is the type of thing one doesn't notice right away. Sometimes, sleep takes a while to fade from the mind, and in that in-between time, nothing seems amiss. So it goes when Lars awakens. The pink teen pushes himself up to a seated position and pulls his rather dramatic cape around himself. With a yawn, he uses the fabric to rub at one eye...

...And finally realizes that, while he still feels like he was sleeping somewhere hard and uncomfortable, he's not in his captain's chair.

"...Wait."

Is he back on Earth? It's the closest thing he's seen to it in a while. But wherever here is, he has no idea how he got here. Surely, if Emerald or some other Homeworld official had launched a successful attack on the ship, he would have been awake before it came to a crash. There would have been too much noise to sleep through, and surely someone would have woken him up.

He looks around... None of the Off-Colors are there. There's not even any sign of the ship's wreckage. So... No. No, there wasn't a crash. Maybe they went through a wormhole, or blackhole, or... He's seen those sort of things in space movies. Maybe that's it.

Lars stands up, and somewhere in the back of his mind, he finds himself wondering why these things always happen to him - but his more conscious stream of thought dismisses that quickly. He knows people who go through far worse, far more often.

"This still sucks," he mutters as he begins to walk down the street where he woke up.

Sexy | Doctor Who

[personal profile] sexy_bluebox 2018-11-05 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
All in all, this is certainly not the weirdest thing that's ever happened. In fact, Sexy's not entirely sure it makes top ten but, well, there you have it. The weirdest part about it is the fact that she has a mouth, which, contrary to most experiences, is not a luxury she usually has. (She proves this, of course, by letting out a series of random vocalizations - yes, she definitely has a mouth that was not there previously).

Upon further inspection, Sexy takes note that she does seem to be in Idris' body again, which is ludicrous in and of itself. Her body was deceased, and she purposefully atomized it so the Doctor, Amy, and Rory wouldn't have the displeasure of disposing it. Everything about the situation screams impossible (as it so very frequently does).

Finally, Sexy manages to sit up, skirt bunched up between her legs. She's on a pile of dirt, back resting against what seems to be a rock, and it takes her a second to recall the motor function for her body. Sexy looks up at her surroundings, noting the not-so-neat rows of similar-looking rocks, and the red-tinged sky. She can't quite remember the name for where she is, but something in her very human gut knows it's not a good thing.

"Oh, dear." Sexy bunches a hand in her hair, scrunching it before attempting to stand. She manages to sway to her feet, still looking around for something, anything, that might tell her where she was (and where her wayward Timelord had gotten to this time).

She takes a step, dress catching on something behind her, and Sexy holds a hand out to steady herself on the mystery rock. There's a phone holding her down, yes, a bulky rotary telephone, and she stoops down to pick it up, setting it on the mystery rock. Curious fingers brush over the dial, and she picks up the receiver wrong end up, turning in the only number she can recall from her too-stuffed human brain at the moment: her own.

Riku | Kingdom Hearts

[personal profile] darkconversion 2018-11-06 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
The Kururugi Shrine
[ For the most part Riku let his feet wander through the city from late afternoon to late into the evening. Dusk was a comfortable time for him, more so than dawn as he’s been letting his thoughts keep him up late at night. Ruminating his arrival, the sights he’s seen, the power of this place, and the strange power he’s received. It was different, obviously, but also the familiarity of it in others was strange.. to share a power with the others here made him feel less alone, as did the way they all seemed to have woken up here. That was a common occurrence.

In any case, Riku had wandered up to the Kururugi Shrine. It was a peaceful spot of land, with a gentle breeze that spoke through the filters of leaves and tree branches. It whistled across the stone steps ascending toward the shrine. It tickled at his length of silver locks and encouraged him closer to the temple. An allure he couldn’t deny.
]

The Cathedral
[ The structure of the cathedral, at least on the outside, looked ominous which was probably not the intent of its making — especially since it was meant to be a place of worship. At least that’s what he’s been told about churches. The church is where people go to find solace, peace, renew their core, flourish in their faith.. you would find peace there.. That was the selling factor as to why Riku even bothered to check out the place. Coming to this place sure did disturb him and finding a place to feel more himself would be an excellent idea.

So, he leered outside the church, looking up at it with a sudden shroud of doubt hinging off his shoulders.
]

Dream of The All Blue Restaurant
[ He’s been here now for nearly a week and he is diligently working through the various restaurants this place has to offer. Once he heard about this particular spot Riku was excited to try it next time he was hungry, it was a little difficult for him to find however. He wasn’t sure he was in the right spot until he found some signs indicating the restaurant was actually on the bottom floor. He took the stairs quickly and let himself in through the front door.

What caught his eyes almost immediately was the gorgeous view of the near sea.
]

June’s Department Store
[ Some new clothes would be ideal, since his travel pack was left behind and he can only go so long wearing the same pair fabrics for so long. He was starting to get tired of it, honestly. Plus, honestly, he was curious as to what would pass for this world’s fashion and … how was that decided? Was someone in the department store responsible for designing what clothes they wore, what appliances they had in their homes, the furniture even, or did this stuff sort of seep up out of the somewhere (or nowhere) for others to take some comfort in the familiarity of a home’s aesthetic, complete with furniture, appliances, and decor?

He kind of wanted to get a toaster, honestly. But he was okay walking away with a couch or bed.. hopefully they had delivery and took I-O-Us.

[ooc: Feel free to recognize Death for what she is, or if your character might think she looks familiar! And if you want her to know who your character is, let me know :D]

Death was used to being everywhere, and not anywhere, all at once. She was so used to it, in fact, that being pulled to a new place like this? Didn't even faze her a little bit. She was sort of here before, she wasn't here before, and now she was here. Fully and completely. Enough that people sensitive to these kind of things could probably feel it when she woke up.

She'd never really woken up before, and wasn't that fun? This was all like some grand adventure, like the ones she would have once every hundred years. Oh, but she was already having a blast, walking around everywhere, seeing all the cool new things that just happened to be here.

But she was finding that she was hungry. Not really thirsty, but kind of hungry, and all of the humming and sometimes skipping she was doing was making her even more hungry. So, whenever she saw a random person, she grabbed them by the arm with a grin.

"You wouldn't happen to know where to get a hot dog, would you? I'm craving something awful for a hot dog. Ooh, or a bagel! Or maybe a banana, what do you think is better to have when you're hungry?"

Alright then. This was not the Tardis. This was very much not the Tardis. Not unless she added some new rooms he'd not known about. Possible, of course. But still not the Tardis. He was almost certain of that. Air seemed normal enough, breathable. Sky... Okay that might be one of the odder moons he had ever seen. Was it naturally shaped that way or had something happened? Was that why he was here? Ohh! Now that could be interesting.

He pulled out his sonic, and aimed it at the moon. Odd, must be some sort of atmospheric quality that kept him from hearing anything when he activated it. More to unravel, he did love that bit. He pulled down the sonic to look at the redouts, then frowned. He did not like this bit, not at all. He walked to a stone and smacked the sonic against it a few times. He tried to use it again, and still nothing. What good was impact adjustment if it didn't actually FIX anything? Well then.

He would have to go to the Tardis and fix the sonic properly there. He turned. Turned again. A few more times for good measure. Nothing there. Trees. Rocks. Grass. Bit of odd sky. No Tardis.

"No sonic, no Tardis, what's next? Threats to blow up the planet?" He scolded the air around him. "If you're going to threaten me, do try to be a bit inventive, we've done this bit before." Well, hopefully that would sting the pride of whoever had done this enough that they wouldn't put him on twenty minutes to figure this out and save the world before they thought to destroy it.

So whatever he was dealing with was a bit of a copycat. Good to know that at least. But what else did he know? He knew he had been leaving the Ponds' with Amy and Kate, then some voice told him to Wake, then here he was. That would teach him to listen to any old call in his head. Except it wouldn't not really. Still, interesting bit of a trap. Bad for those who put him here, of course. So what did he have here? No Amy. No Kate. No Rory, but that was to be expected, really. So he was alone. Not so good at alone, but that was fine! He's been doing more alone while the Ponds were at their house, one quick adventure, fix whatever needed fixing, then find a way to pop himself into Unit, in Kate's chair, with a proper tea, while they tried to figure out how he vanished between them and all the Unit soldiers. Actually, he rather liked that plan. Good to have a plan.

Now all that was left was to figure out how to do it!

Geronimo!

Her last detention. At least, that's what it was supposed to be. Kim had laid her head down for a moment, exasperated by the usual mischief of detention and just wanting it to be over, and then... she had woken up here. Which was weird. Nothing was familiar, none of her friends were there. This was definitely not Angel Grove.

"I am not getting more detention for this." She grumbled, crossing her arms over the chest. She finish her time that she'd earned but this? This was not her doing and she refused to take the fall.

[Extreme Pizza and Laser Tag Arena]

Okay, pizza wasn't the best choice. It wasn't healthy or anything but after everything so far? She deserved a breather. She and Trini had spent some time at Krispy Kreme, after all, while they'd been training to fight Rita. This didn't come as a precursor to anything but downtime was always appreciated.

So she settled with a single slice, watching some people come out from out from laser tag matches to see the winners and final scores. It was kind of nice, and she entertained the thought of trying for a moment. Then let it pass.

[audio]

[She's so glad to have her phone still. And that it works, even if it can't connect and reach her friends. At least she still has the pictures she took with them. It was a small comfort.]

So... hi? 'Sup? I'm Kim.

Don't really know what to ask or say so I thought I'd introduce myself.

She was so confused when she woke up, but at least she woke up somewhere that was nice. Nice in her book, that was. A beach was the perfect place for her to be, somewhere that felt nice. Felt a little like being home, in some way that she couldn't place, but that she wanted to. Filled with all of these memories that weren't her own.

"Do you think that it'd be okay to stay here?" Xion asked the seashell she held in her hand, like it had all the answers. She didn't realize there was anyone else around, lost in silent contemplation.

"I miss everyone though. Axel and... Roxas..."

There is a rather large white-furred bipedal creature dressed in purple robes on the ground, her face like a cross between a goat and a rabbit. She wakes slowly, but lingers on the ground for a few moments, clenching her paws in this grass. This has to be a dream. It was simply impossible to reach the surface.

She slowly sat up, forcing herself to breathe. It would do no good to panic now...but it had been such a very long time since she had last been surrounded by the unfamiliar. At the sound of a nearby noise, she turned to it, forcing herself to remain calm.

Well. Wasn't every day you woke up somewhere completely different from where you were supposed to be. Then again, waking up somewhere unfamiliar wasn't generally supposed to happen at all.

"...Where is this?" A glance at the ground around her uncovered a cellphone, which was quickly scooped up and pocketed for the moment before Masumi decided to explore the area and hopefully find someone who could explain things. Or even better, find a way to go home, since she couldn't stay here when she had things to do.

Once-ler staggered through the gate, looking utterly bewildered, and, if truth be told, nauseous. He looked around wide-eyed for a full minute.

"Oh, no. No. Not here. Nooooot this place. Not right now....." The Southern drawl that he'd worked so hard to rid himself of crept back into the final syllables, as the lanky man spun around to go back through the gate.

...only to be immediately knocked back on his butt into the snow.

{ After Awakening }

Of all the weird things that have happened in Peter's life this was honestly probably not quite at the top of that list but somewhere close to it. He takes his time wandering about town and decides fairly early on that this is definitely not New York. He's not sure where exactly it is that here is but he continues to look around.

Nothing's upsetting his Spideysense so he figures he's safe for now. He shoulders his back pack and makes his way through the streets. He should probably ask someone about where he is and how to get back as he doesn't want May to worry anymore than she usually does.

Making a quick decision, he pushes his way into a store and takes a look around to see if anyone is in.

"Hello? I think I might be kinda lost?"

{ After a little time }

Peter's made the decision that he likes this place-it's a little weird-weirder than back home and that was saying something because he'd actually been bit by a radioactive spider. How does that even happen? He shakes the thought out of his head and stretches in the slightly, uncomfortable plastic chair he's sitting in at some cafe.

The chair tilts back as he stretches but doesn't tip over, even though it looks little like it should be. He tilts it back further as he stretches and his senses alight just when he's gone a little too far.

The chair starts to fall back and Peter rolls backwards off the chair, back on his feet in an instant, hands out like he needs to steady himself.

"Whoa." He whispers to himself leaning down to right the chair that had fallen over and grabs his specialty coffee before sitting down again. "Sure hope no one saw that."

[Western District and anywhere else]

What a familiar red sky. When was the last time he saw it? How many RESETs had he done? How many had Frisk done? How many endings has he seen? Too many. Far too many. He couldn't come back though. Not after he was Flowey. Not until he wasn't a flower anymore. Here he was. He was filled with SOULs, monster and human. It was amazing to wiggle his fingers and spread his arms under the bright red sky of the Western District.

He was in Nautilus again. He was HOME. Furry feet padded against the dry dirt as he made his first renewed steps into the familiar yet every changing city. He wondered just who would be here and who would be gone. What new sights would there be and what old ones remained? Finally. He didn't know the script of the story. Something could be NEW again.

"For now, anyway." Asriel spoke to himself, his voice older with an echo of the choir of voices behind it. All the Underground and the six humans, all speaking in unison with him. He liked the sound of his own voice now. He liked that he could like it. He would walk the city for a while. Just explore and take it all in. See just who he might run into.

[Audio post]

[Asriel clicks on his phone and starts an audio post. His voice comes out deeper than it used to, more adult. Or as adult as what a child would think an adult voice sounds like. Yet when he speaks, his voice seems to echo, like many other voices all speak in unison with this own.]

Howdy! It's me. Asriel Dreemurr. I so happy to be back in Nautilus. So. Is there a current crisis happening in this city? I remember that being an issue from time to time when I was here. I was little back then so maybe I was more scared than I needed to be.

Quick question. Who currently owns the Western Welcome House?
najaran: (Hm?)

Najaran | Culdcept Manga | Endish of book 5

[personal profile] najaran 2019-01-03 11:25 am (UTC)(link)
Waaa! That was such a good nap! Odd, that Najaran didn't remember falling asleep... but someone told her to WAKE and she did. Odd though.... Master Horowitz usually wasn't so nice when he woke her, usually he screamed at her. 'Course usually by the time she heard him he'd been calling for a while. And it didn't sound like Goligan's voice. Almost sounded a bit like... "Kigi...?" she asked as she pushed herself into a sitting position, her large earrings swatting against her neck as they swayed.

But by the time she was sitting she knew it couldn't have been Kigi. Kigi was....

She swallowed hard and reached behind herself pulling a single card from her deck. Gargoyle. She rested it lightly against her forehead and closed her eyes. "Not gone," she whispered to the card. "She's not gone, she's right here."

She put the card back in her deck, surprised at how difficult it was. Then she looked around for the first time. Goligan would have given her a bruise for that, for not noticing where she was sooner. Alta would have given her a hard time too. Which really wasn't fair, since Ganz was usually too drunk to know where he was, and Joaquin only ever knew where he was in his book.

She sulked a bit as she took in her surroundings. Where on Rakan was she? She'd never seen any place quite like this. She groped around on the ground for...

There was no cane beside her, no walking stick. Where could he have gone? She pushed to her feet on her own, used to having Goligan to lean on, physically as well as emotionally. Where was she? How had she gotten here? Dimension Door?

She rubbed sleep from her eyes, trying to remember. She had been with Master Horowitz, looking for Zeenith Dragon-Eye... And now....

She stumbled back. "This... this isn't good...." she said softly to herself, horror dawning as she realized that she had just vanished from Master Horowitz's ship and had wound up somewhere utterly unfamiliar. And she was alone. This was not good. Not good. Her master was going to be SO ANGRY!

"IT ISN'T MY FAULT!" she called, hoping that if she was loud enough, he would hear her. She didn't stop to think about who else might hear her as well. "I DIDN'T MEAN TO LEAVE, MASTER!"

Could he open a Dimension Door and bring her back? She didn't think he had that card, but then again, she hadn't known a lot about him before he sent her off to Grubel. Her Master said that the titles and the history don't matter, that she knew him better than anyone did but...

She sniffed.

But she didn't even know what was in his deck! In his secret snack hiding places, sure. In his bathroom, unfortunately. She even knew about his Dragon Eye, now. But Dimension Door?

She clutched her hands in front of her, empty, almost imagining she could hear Goligan complaining that she was strangling him. She hadn't felt so alone in a very long time... and she was coming to discover that she didn't like it....
