Clef had been looking for a place to practice his water spells when he saw a familiar jacket. He smiled and headed over. "Ah, Demyx, I have not seen you in some time. How is the new heart working out for....." and that was when he was close enough to realize his mistake. "Ah, my apologies."

Clef himself was shorter than Xion, looking all of ten years old. He also looked like he dressed in a grown up's halloween costume bin, wearing a huge cloak with a hood that was so oversized it only served to make him look younger. The staff he held was taller than he was, and was as covered in gems as his clothing was. He stood on a spit of ground, grass and all, trapped inside a sphere of magic that surrounded him like a slightly visible pastel soap bubble.

Xion was shocked, for many reasons. First, this guy, this kid(?), looked like nothing she had ever seen before. And she'd seen plenty of different things in all of her time as a member of Organization XIII. She'd traveled to different worlds, after all, it was something that expanded her horizons.

But he looked... different. And he also knew Demyx. She knew Demyx better then other members; he was one of the nicer ones in the Organization, but here was someone who thought that she was someone else. And for a moment she got worried, worried that he actually saw her as Demyx, but then he apologized, and--

"You know Demyx?" Xion asked, getting up from her spot on the beach. "How do you know him?"

"I met him a while back. He said that he had problems with a heart." That he lacked one, specifically, "So Nita and I did some research and we helped fix the issue. But I have not seen him for some time and had suspected that he had returned to his world. You are a friend of his, then?"

"He doesn't have one." Xion said matter of fact. That's why they were Nobodies. They didn't have hearts. So how did they...

"I... I don't know if you'd really call us 'friends'. He's part of Organization Thirteen. Like me." Looking down at the ground, she kicked her foot for a moment before looking back up. "He was here, though? How did he get here? He's not supposed to be here, I don't think."

"This world calls those with the potential to be heroes, and gives them the chance to learn to be so, if they wish. And he has a heart, now."

"I'm not a hero." Xion said with a frown, and she held herself with both arms wrapped around her waist. She knew who the real heroes were, and she knew she wasn't one of them. Didn't count herself as one of them.

She never would be one of them, even if it might be nice to be the hero for once. "No he doesn't. I mean, he didn't have one last time I saw him. And he wouldn't get a heart and not tell us about it." She thought. Maybe.

"He didn't think he was one either when he arrived." Clef frowned, concerned at the way she was holding herself. But he was bad at people. He didn't know how to help. Maybe Link and Sora would? Something to consider.

"You can be a hero, if you want. There are plenty of people who are willing to help. And as for him not telling you, I am not certain he's been home, since."

"Oh." Xion looked down at the ground. Maybe that was true, that she just hadn't seen Demyx in awhile. In the time that she'd been dealing with her own things, he could have gotten a heart, and told everyone else about it, too.

Except her and Roxas. And Axel, maybe. They would have known if he got a heart. Xion was so lost in thought about that that she almost forgot that someone else was standing in front of her, and she looked back up.

"You know how to get hearts?"

He had meant about being a hero, but for the other... he nodded. "It was myself and one other that gave him his." They gave him a placebo and exercises to convince him that he was whole and let a city where will and belief shaped reality do the rest.
