But it's her statement that takes a while longer to process. It's, surprisingly, not the first time he's seemingly been recognized by somebody he's never met. There'd been Demyx, back when he was still in the city, although he might've been confusing him for somebody else because he kept insisting he was called Roxas but that was a whole other can of worms. As it is, Sora tilts his head a bit, confused. Not the response he was expecting... he's actually not really sure how to unpack that. But.
"Here as in, like, Nautilus? I mean, I don't think the city calls people on accident..." or does it? He'd sort of read the guide but maybe 'skimmed' would be the more accurate word, he can't claim to actually know things like 'why are we here' or 'is this place public property and am I allowed to decorate it with seasonally-appropriate trinkets'.

She wished there was someone she could ask about this, but she didn't know anyone in this place, except Sora, and he didn't know her.
"I... I guess not. But you're supposed to be somewhere else, not." She stopped, taking in a deep breath. "I'm sorry, I'm not ready to go, I thought I was, but I'm not yet."

But it doesn't even seem like that's all there is to it, because he's got no idea what she means by not being ready to go. If she's new then it makes no sense to be stressing about going home already. But she's far too worried for him to ask for an explanation-- even if he is curious, he guesses it's more important to set things straight about what's going on here first-- so instead he just shrugs.
"And that means you don't have to go anywhere if you don't want to, either. Or do anything you don't want to. Things are totally different here."

That meant that maybe, just maybe, she didn't have to do the things she knew she had to. The things that would make her disappear again, leave this world forever. Leave every world forever. If she could stay here... then she would always be free.
Waiting a moment, she scooted closer to Sora, close enough that she could reach out and gently touch his shoulder. Her eyes were squeezed tight, like she was expecting something bad to happen, but when her hand touched his shoulder... nothing happened. She let go quickly after, and looked down at her hand in surprise.
She was still here. The smile she gave Sora was blinding. "I can do anything, here?"
