"Torchwood," Rose covered her head with her arms and sniffled. "UNIT's stupid."

She tried to let the emotions calm down, stop tearing her to shreds, actually process them, analyze, think carefully.

"They always said it you know. Four and Three and 8. They said it even about 9. That I chose 10. I didn't want to. I didn't understand why I couldn't be everywhere at once here."

She fiercely rubbed a fist over her eyes and face and slowly got up and gave him a big hug again.

"I can't go and change it. If you remember it, that's how it happens. Otherwise it creates flaws and really could destroy the universes. I thought... I thought it was Fluffy and you getting to have Gallifrey back, just not me. I thought it was still a good thing and everything would be okay because you had friends and River and --"

Rose started bawling again and buried her face in his chest, hugging and clinging around his neck. "I never wanted to leave you!!!" Bawling. "I gave up everything for you over and over and over again. Family, friends, home, everything, I never looked back, never regretted it, and now you're saying it's for naught? What kind of rubbish is that??? Fluffy's right to reject the future!" Sniffles and hiccups.

He rubbed her back helplessly.

"Hey, hey there, Rose. This is me, the Doctor. All this time I've had to reason things out, you think I'd tell you to change if I wasn't sure it would all work out fine? Trust me, trust the Tardis, we can make this work. Already worked out how. And you'll love the...."

"What? What about Gallifrey?"

Rose rubbed her eyes and sniffled more. "You get Gallifrey back," she said numbly. It wasn't fair. She always said she wasn't a planet or a whole people, but she was pretty damn fantastic. Now what, she had to compete with them? She couldn't. "The weapon to destroy it, either it took on being me, or I put myself inside it with Bad Wolf. So I've been in its head. In Rassilon's. Gallifrey comes back and Clara convinced Rassilon to give you more regenerations because he wanted to use your confession dial and the Master to trick you into explaining about the Hybrid." Gosh, talk about spoilers...

"Wait... what? Clara? Who is Clara? You were in the Moment... no, think I would have remembered that, actually."

The Hybrid? How could Rose know about the Hybrid? Had he ever mentioned that? Not sure. Spent so long trying not to think about those days it is all a bit of a blur, all running and snogging her when she wasn't her and cat nurses and cybermen. He couldn't honestly say any more. But no... none of this made sense, none of it could be real.

But what if it was... Oh... To be able to fix things so Rose was back with him, without messing up anything else and get Gallifrey back? Undo what he'd done? No, that was a double paradox at that point. Too much. He'd have to choose. One or the other. But he couldn't choose. Wouldn't choose.

Then a thought occurred to him. Bit of a thought. Not a good sort of thought, but the led in the belly sort of a thought. Had Rose known that when she chose? Did she choose the other him... to trade herself for Gallifrey? To take that choice from him? He wasn't sure if he should be angry at that or relieved or thankful or just sad.

The question came down to if this was really Rose, because he needed fish fingers and custard. Or.. Oh! "Yorkshire pudding!" No, he was not explaining the thought process that got to that.

"You don't even call that life the Doctor, how would you know?" she gave up and flomped onto the ground as a wolf.

At the last part she tilted her head and flicked her ears. "Is that a swear in another planet?" It could be, for all she knows. Belgium is.

How... how could she know that? Unless she was either real and had done all that... or this trap was just really... really... weird.

"What? No. To eat."

[bigbadrose]

More ear flicks. "Okay. I want chips. Big surprise, I know."

"Right. Chips and yorkshire pudding, good to have something to dip the chips in."

Yes. Yes he was going to do that.

"No." She made a face. Extra comical as a wolf. "Well YOU can, but I want vinegar and pepper on mine! Weirdo!!"

somehow I missed when she transformed and was wondering at the icons, lol.

"Oi! Just for that, you can't have any of my pudding!"

ROFL I was so amused that he didn't even notice the difference rofl

"I don't want it!" she stuck her wolf tongue out at him.

Lol. Well he'll acknowledge it here, at least. And was a bit him to just ignore it before anyhow.

"Now that is just rude. I go to all that trouble to invent Yorkshire pudding, and you don't want any and the Ponds don't believe me. Enough to make a man mad enough to think you've actually gone and turned yourself into a wolf. Though last I checked I wasn't that daft. Yet."

"You invented it?"

Rose changed back and joined her seat. "I did for a bit, yeah. I was even speaking wolf, Mr. I speak every language under 5 billion different suns." Another tongue loll grin. "Bit like the whole Moment thing here, there was a chaos storm that made me a wolf, and the Doctor -- Fluffy and 9 I mean, were phoenixes."

"Of course I did. It is pudding, but savoury. How does everyone keep doubting that is me?" Seriously, people. A little appreciation, if you please. Banana daiquiris, Yorkshire pudding, he was just a font of good ideas and tinkering.

"Well of course you were speaking wolf, be a bit odd to be a wolf and speak Gaelic, even for Rose Tyler." have a hint of a grin there. "But what exactly this chaos storm thing, to make you an actual wolf anymyselves what now? Don't think they're flashy enough as it is, they had to go and set themselves on fire? No wonder I'd so much to do erasing myself from history."

Rose giggled at that, "You did what?" bigger eyes.

"I thought you'd heard me but maybe I erased that too. Never do quite know."

Face palm. "Cute, but pretend I'm real and don't know what you're talking about, yeah?"

A small shrug as he started bustling about to see what options they actually had for food, here. "I got a bit too big, too large, to noisy. Too known. So, took a few years bounced about on my own erasing myself through time. You know, same old."

"You mentioned that a little, I think," her eyes narrowed. "Wanna talk about it?"

She stirred her bubble tea with a straw.

"No. All done. Taken care of. Nothing for Rose Tyler to worry about." River knew. And the Ponds. Jenny and Vastra and Strax. No one else needed to know. Well, Moldivar knew, but they he'd been getting a..head.. of the game of late.

Rose's eyes narrowed all the same.

"I didn't say I'd do anything about it. I offered to listen. Just because it's been dealt with doesn't mean it doesn't bother you. Fluffy's nightmares wake me up all the time"

"Except we fix things for you to do things over, do them right, then this is all spoilers, and things I can't tell you yet," he said, booping her nose before spinning back to look over the options again, fussing with everything, putting things back in different places, tossing somethings to the side. "Besides, since when does Rose Tyler hear about something that bothers someone she loves that she doesn't do something about it, eh?"

Face scrunch... and giggles... "Well... yeah... but... it's been getting me into trouble." A sad sort of admittance and she stirred her straw in her bubble tea. "And I don't want to be-- No offense, but like Fluffy. Makin' the whole of Earth dependent on him so it was all dominoes falling down from any little shake gone wrong, yeah?"

"Yes, well, as I said, got too big. All fixed now though. Now it is all flying about and vampire fish and Weeping Angels and insane Daleks. You'll see, Rose Tyler, you'll see." He'll fix things so that she can stay with him without ruining anything else. He just had to do it. That was it. She was here and this was his second chance to fix things. Well, third chance. Fourth? ah, not like anyone was counting anyway.
