Any of you guys remember the Wake-related commission I got from The Boo some months ago?




The original black and white line art I commissioned from The Boo is here and...that above is what I ended up doing with it. Boo is one of the talented artists who drew for the IDW line of TFA comics while they were still being published and I got lucky enough to get in on a really good commission deal he ran last year. Ratchet with the Magnus Hammer is the focus of the piece, but I also requested that James "Rusty" Sunderland be included. James has obviously left us at this point, but I still love this piece. It needed color like burning.

And here, have a music link while I'm at it. I listened to this damn song on repeat the last few hours I spent working out this piece.

Now I'm gonna go to bed and get some sleep so I can get up and work on more art later. Fft.

Sankyuuuu~! Well...ya had him for a few years. I've got a number of characters I don't play anymore I really miss from time to time. Got reminded of one of 'em watching a ton of youtube amvs the other night, but if I ever picked him up again...oh god...it's be 50-some-odd episodes of Gundam for canon review.

But, hey... If you want a high res version of this to make a print out for old time's sake, I'll bounce one your way.

&hearts Honestly, it looks just as good, if not better, than the colouring in a lot of the Arrival comics. It has a lot more dimension, and is just generally made of win. |3

In my own head, it almost sorta is...l-lol. Part of what makes me cherish the line art so much is that it was drawn by one of the guys who did the official comics, so...he was approved by both IDW and Hasbro to represent the TFA line. Now if I could get art from Derrick Wyatt at a convention or something, my TFA fan life would be complete. ;-; Meanwhile, I'm just the fan nerd who colored a pro's work this time. >>;
