She flailed when he did that, trying not to fall, but caught herself, frowning, still confused. She grew up with family, she rarely leaves her small town. She has no clue what an inn is. She wants her room full of Garu pictures, and her uncles, and her Garu, please.

[Link blinked in surprise.]

[He held his hand out for her.]

This is a safe place. I mean, until you can go back home without ending right back here, or someone from home comes here.

she caught his hand and hung from it with one of her own, then tongue out of her mouth on one side, rifled around in her bag with her other hand, seeming to have zero concern over if she'd fall that way, or that all her weight was dangling from one arm.

[Link let her do her acrobatics with a puzzled look.]

She finally pulled out a picture of Garu covered in cartoony hand drawn hearts. She held it up for Link to see one handed, head tilted in a question.

[She was a tiny stalker?]

He's not here. But, he could show up? Eventually....?

HEr face got dark and grim, and she looked like she was about to burst into tears.

[Link bit his lip.]

If you really don't like it here, give it a few days. And maybe the gates will let you go right back home.

She pulled the picture back to her chest giving it a very sad one handed hug. She wanted her Garu.

[Link never fooled himself into thinking that the majority of other people desired his company. But, he still felt obligated to offer.]

You could hang out with me for a bit, until you decide what you want to do? Or, I can take you to the Doctor. He tends to adopt all the human kids.

She considered, put the picture away, then lifted herself up on his arm and hugged his neck. Doctors that collect children sound scary.

[Link turned a little red in the cheeks. He understood loneliness and homesickness both. Loneliness especially.]

Okay. I don't gotta be anywhere right now. Do you want lunch?

She nodded against his neck. NOODLES!

[Link started looking in the cupboards for something to cook with. He wasn't a great chef, but, he could cook lunch for himself and a little girl.]

I gotta say, I'm a little surprised you don't wanna go to see the Doctor. He's got like a ton of kids now. They have parties and sleepovers and stuff--

[A slightly wistful tone entered his voice, that he did his best to squash in his next breath. While he might have wished that he, Zelda, and Shadow had been invited to those things, Link couldn't be sure if that wasn't just a holdover from being constantly excluded amongst the Kokiri or not.]

But, waiting is cool too. Anything look good to eat to you?

She hopped down and ran across the counter, jumping up to throw each cabinet open, and then the fridge and started gathering all the ingredients to make noodles with vegetables. Then she looked at him expectantly. Btw, the ingredients for noodles? She pulled out the stuff for HOMEMADE Noodles, not a box of pasta.

[Noodles---homemade at least---were a bit beyond his skill set.
Rice was much more common in Hyrule, and that he could fumble his way through.]

Is he wearing his sword?

Noodles. How hard was noodles? Her uncles ALWAYS made noodles. She sweat beaded a little and started gesturing, like she was miming making noodles. Not that the way she was used to noodles being made would make sense to ANYONE not from her village.

Yep. The only time he's weaponless is at home.

[Link's brow furrowed.]

I can make onigiri?

Or soup.

[He added, eyeing the vegetables.]

She is going to try to take his sword.... You have been warned. On his back or his hip?

She glared at him then jumped up on the table to start making pasta dough, irritated. This was worse than when she needed Ching and Santa to help her when her uncles went to train after Dada cleared a bowl too early. St least they understood what she wanted!

Always on his back. Sword and shield both. Right now it's the Razor Sword, not the Master.

[Link watched her quietly for a few moments. He still wasn't sure what the girl was making--the nearest he could guess was some sort of bread.]

She finished the dough, though it took her way too long. She rolled it into a spiral and tried to fling one end out like her uncles do... and the pasta flew out of her hand and hit the wall.

She made an irritated noise. Maybe she'd do better with the vegetables. She couldn't be as bad as Ching, at least. She looked around for a... AH! She saw his sword, climbed up his arm, and before he's have much chance to realize what she was up to, she grabbed the sword and did a flip off of his head, pulling it from the sheath as she did, to land in front of the vegetables with the sword raised high in both hands. Unless he stops her...

[Link is fast when it comes to his weaponry. It usually came as a surprise to anyone who ever had to wake up him in the mornings that a boy who could move so slowly had the ability to be almost alarmingly fast when the occasion called for it.

His double-edged sword being used for cooking was one of these times.]

Hey!

[He grabbed the sword back, plucking it from her grasp with an irritated huff.]

One: it's not a kitchen knife.

Two: I've killed monsters with that, gross.

She turned to face him, irritated. She didn't care if the sword had monster goo. That was just protein, right? She pointed back towards the vegetables, demandingly.

[Making another huffy noise, Link dug through a drawer trying to find a knife for foods. After a few tries he found one and handed it over.]

She looked at the knife and gave him a look that asked if he was kidding her. How could you cut vegetables with something that small?!
