Re: The Once-ler | Dr. Seuss
Gabriel was out with his sketch book, something he did rarely, hut given the new line he was working on, who knew where inspiration might strike? He was intentionally passing where Papillion had seen the Onceler, but was clearly not noticing him. He wanted to see if the Onceler would call out to him or not.....
Re: The Once-ler | Dr. Seuss
Sighing, he stood up, running a hand over the gate.
"C'mon. You don't want me here. This place is for good people, and we both know I ain't--I'm not one."
For the moment, Gabriel, Once was a little too absorbed in his escape attempts to really notice.
Sorry, haven't bought points yet for the month.
"I thought I heard a familiar voice..." And given the depth of these feelings? He would be using this man as an Akuma. But there was no reason that Gabriel couldn't get use of him as well. "Your last shipment never arrived."
I have hardly any icons for Oncie, no worries
And for a moment, he wondered how the devil Gabriel hadn't heard of the factory closing, when it dawned on him that the man was talking about something from Nautilus that had long escaped his mind.
"I got called home. Or...fell asleep. Whatever they call it."
Re: I have hardly any icons for Oncie, no worries
this is Gabriel for you've been missed, Oncie.

Well. Delivery boy he could be, once again. And if there was one thing he could it was act.
"You can. Depends on how much is still in my room at the Welcome House."

"Oh, sure, they should be, but, if we cease to exist here, do they remain? And if newly Wakened people come and take it, it's hardly a crime if you don't technically exist."

He deserved worse.
"But, I'll get you your order, don't worry."

Once-ler paused, studying Gabriel for a moment. "I'm honestly surprised you're still here. I would have thought you'd have taken your son and left by now. I was under the impression you weren't too keen on this place."

Which would have been amusing, but, did feel some sympathy for the man.
"Kids are difficult. Or....so I've been told...."

Let Once think that. Better that than he realize that Gabriel had other reasons for wanting to come back to this place.

An utter disaster.
"...worth it. Mostly."

Oncie was under the impression Gabriel's son was a late teen.
"If he's something like seventeen, you...you might want to prepare yourself, Sir. I'd hate to see you blindsided by something like that."
Unhappy young men tended to leave home, and the Once-ler was actually very sincere in his concern.

Once stared for a moment, concern growing. The only reason he had stayed on the family farm as long as he had, was he needed a little money to fix up his wagon, and scrape together a few essentials.
If he had been in a magic city where you could think things into existence, the Once-ler would have been gone much sooner.
"Well, you can, but, the methods are generally frowned upon."
